One of the hottest trends of 2012 has been the rise to fame of South Korean pop artist, Psy, and his hit single, “Gangnam Style.” Psy has made several appearances including performing at the MTV Video Music Awards, an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the today show, and even a cameo on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live. Psy will no doubt be one of the most popular Halloween costumes of 2012.

2. Binder Full of Women Halloween Costume

This being an election year, of course Halloween costumes will be inspired by the candidates. One of the most memorable lines from this election season came from the second debate when Mitt Romney claimed to have requested “binders full of women.”

Gimenez took it upon herself to restore the painting, supposedly doing the whole thing with her eyes closed. The dough-faced Jesus was so well done that it inspired people to turn to the internet to “restore” other paintings. The results were hilarious.

One of the most exciting parts of 2012 would have to have been the London Olympics. And one of the most memorable images was the sour face of USA gymnast, McKayla Maroney after Team USA took home the silver. The image inspired the “McKayla is not impressed” meme that spread throughout the internet.
